The chemical engineering Bachelor's program offers two specialization tracks: Chemical Engineering and Chemical-Materials Engineering. Both tracks share a substantial portion of coursework, covering subjects like liberal arts, mathematics, foundational sciences, computer science, advanced chemistry, core engineering principles, and chemical engineering theory and applications. Students must complete history/social science and humanities/arts electives to fulfill either FSU's liberal studies or FAMU's general education requirements.

The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering delivers an advanced education grounded in contemporary chemical and biomedical engineering principles. Chemical engineering's core focus examines multicomponent, multiphase systems across molecular and macroscopic scales, with special attention to chemical reaction processes. The biomedical engineering concentration leverages this chemical engineering foundation, concentrating on cellular and biochemical changes in both natural and artificial systems. A key educational component involves faculty and students collaborating on pioneering research addressing society's pressing challenges. Through classroom teaching, lab work, and research utilizing cutting-edge experimental, mathematical, and computational methods, the Department equips students for success in both academic and professional settings.
