Students pursuing a degree in government and politics need to finish 36 credit hours of core courses. Graduation requires completing at least 120 credits total. A maximum of 6 credits from the major and 6 from the minor can count toward General Education requirements. Many law school-bound students choose Government and Politics as their field of study. Those majoring in government and law who want to teach may qualify for QUEST, an intensive five-year program leading to teaching certification.
