The Integrated Visual Arts Co-major (IVAC) provides undergraduate students with the chance to engage with visual media and artistic creation. The IVAC curriculum includes courses in art history, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, theatrical design, film production, conceptual art, digital and new media, along with other academic disciplines. Students enrolled in participating departments can apply up to two shared courses toward both their primary major and the IVAC Co-major.
All IVAC courses must be taken for letter grades and can count toward the HAP (Humanities, Arts and Performance) distribution requirement.
The program accepts summer courses and study abroad credits, but does not accept AP credits.
Although many IVAC courses are open to all students, some require co-major enrollment or special permission.
Introductory courses for the Integrated Arts Co-major are available annually.
Integrated Visual Arts Co-majors receive priority enrollment in Visual Arts classes.
