Environmental scientists tackle some of the planet's most urgent challenges. As guardians of natural resources, they safeguard water supplies, mitigate pollution, remediate hazardous waste, provide guidance on land management, and participate in shaping environmental regulations.
At Emory, students explore both ecological systems and societal dimensions of environmental concerns. Our cross-disciplinary approach combines academic learning with hands-on experience through fieldwork, internships, research projects, and international study opportunities.
The ENVS Bachelor of Arts program offers students comprehensive grounding in environmental sciences while maintaining flexibility to explore specialized subjects. This degree path is particularly suitable for students still exploring career directions within environmental science, as it provides wide-ranging exposure. The BA also works well for students pursuing dual majors who need to balance course requirements across disciplines.
