The Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology equips students with core biological science fundamentals while offering flexibility to customize advanced coursework for diverse career trajectories. These range from human health sciences and pre-medicine to natural resource management and specialized fields aligned with aerospace and aviation.
This adaptable program features 20 hours of elective credits, enabling students to pursue focused study areas like health sciences, ecology, wildlife science, or forensic biology. They can complement their major with minors such as unmanned aerial systems, psychology, accounting, cyber intelligence and security, finance, or any other 18-credit university minor that doesn't duplicate their major requirements.
The program culminates with either a biology or chemistry capstone project, which students can personalize to their interests. This project offers opportunities for faculty collaboration or independent research, with potential areas including pharmaceutical development, computational autodocking analysis, genetic studies, and wildlife-airport hazard investigations.
