The Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Secondary Chemistry prepares graduates for initial teaching certification in Chemistry for grades 6-12. Designed for individuals holding a bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field, this program meets Michigan's teacher certification requirements. Those earning the Chemistry (DC) endorsement can teach chemistry across diverse educational environments, from public to private middle and high schools. Students benefit from academic advising, scholarship opportunities, and engagement activities through both the Chemistry Department in the College of Arts and Sciences (the program's primary department) and the Teacher Education Department in the College of Education (which handles professional teaching coursework).
