The Master of Arts in Philosophy program offers two specialized tracks: Methodology and Social Justice. These concentrations highlight two key strengths of our department: our diverse faculty expertise and our commitment to addressing structural inequities. Our professors represent analytic, continental, and Chinese philosophical traditions, creating a rich environment where students develop versatile methodological approaches encompassing various practices, assumptions, techniques, writing styles, and theoretical frameworks. Additionally, our philosophy department at Eastern stands out for its focus on systemic injustices, with faculty research exploring pressing ethical issues surrounding gender equality, immigration reform, sustainable food systems, and ecological challenges worldwide.
