The Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics equips students for careers across business, government, and non-profit organizations. This program also provides strong preparation for advanced studies in law, MBA programs, and graduate economics or related fields. Compared to the Bachelor of Arts in Economics, this degree emphasizes quantitative methods, making it ideal for students pursuing data-driven careers or further economics education. The department encourages participation in the Economics Club, where students apply concepts beyond academics through regular meetings and activities. High-achieving students may join the Fed Challenge team, competing against other universities in simulated Federal Reserve policy meetings. EMU uses a test-optional admissions model for first-year admission.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 or higher will not be required to submit a standardized test score.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5-2.74 will be considered test-optional. Upon review of application and academic history, standardized test scores may be requested if required.
At student with a cumulative high school of 2.49 and below will be required to submit a test score.
