Our Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice program offers students a comprehensive, interdisciplinary perspective on crime and justice within societal contexts. The program features a three-part structure consisting of general education requirements, a core curriculum, and specialized concentration options. Students typically progress from foundational courses to the program's central curriculum before selecting one of five focused concentrations, where they explore specialized principles and practical applications. The program creates valuable learning experiences, including supervised internships with government or private organizations addressing crime-related issues. These internships allow students to gain direct experience with criminal justice challenges while applying classroom knowledge in real-world settings. Additionally, students often work alongside faculty on research initiatives, and program faculty regularly mentor students participating in EMU's yearly Undergraduate Research Symposium.
