The Department of Sport, Exercise, Recreation, and Kinesiology provides a Doctor of Philosophy program in Sport Physiology and Performance, featuring specializations in both Sport Physiology and Sport Performance. This doctoral curriculum collaborates closely with ETSU's Center of Excellence for Sport Science and Coach Education (CESSCE). Participants will engage in coaching clinics, professional development initiatives, and community outreach programs serving athletes at all levels - from elite competitors to youth participants in school and recreational sports. The CESSCE aims to enhance athletic achievement while exploring sports' broader societal role in health promotion, along with studying how disabilities, injuries, and illnesses affect sports involvement and performance outcomes. The program's research opportunities may generate discoveries that improve both competitive athletes' experiences and public wellness.
