The criminal justice and criminology program at East Tennessee State University aims to achieve four primary goals:
To foster an analytical perspective on crime and the criminal justice system's purpose within a democratic framework.
To offer educational programs that enhance the learning experience for students in allied fields.
To equip students with the skills needed for careers in criminal justice.
To enable current criminal justice professionals to further their academic qualifications.
This interdisciplinary program integrates legal studies, social sciences, behavioral sciences, and other scholarly domains. Aligned with its objectives, the curriculum maintains an equilibrium between theoretical exploration and practical application, with a mandatory core program for all enrolled students.
