Duquesne University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law has partnered with Pittsburgh Theological Seminary to create a combined program awarding both Juris Doctor and Master of Divinity degrees. Rooted in Judeo-Christian principles, this initiative recognizes the deep connection between justice, legal systems, and spiritual service. Many ministerial activities naturally intersect with legal processes. Through this accelerated pathway, students can complete both degrees in five years of graduate study rather than the standard six. The curriculum delivers comprehensive training in both theological and legal disciplines, with cross-counted electives between the two institutions. Applicants must initiate their studies at Duquesne's law school before nearing completion of their divinity master's requirements.
