The Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution program was developed from the Kline School of Law's unique strength in combining academic theory with hands-on practice, in and beyond the courtroom. Many faculty members bring litigation experience or maintain active practices, while students excel as advocates before graduation through the school's renowned experiential learning programs. By participating in legal clinics and cooperative externships, Kline students earn academic credit while acquiring professional skills and serving the community. Additionally, students join nationally ranked moot court and mock trial teams.

This curriculum educates students in litigation principles, practical techniques, and essential considerations like professional ethics and building client relationships. Designed for aspiring litigators, the program prepares students for courtroom advocacy, alternative dispute resolution, negotiation strategies, and creative problem-solving in contentious legal situations.
