The Biochemistry of Health and Disease (BHAD) graduate program educates students to investigate the molecular processes governing living systems. Participants in our program bridge chemistry and biology to examine how biomolecular interactions regulate cellular activities. This research yields groundbreaking insights into disease mechanisms and guides the creation of innovative treatments. Alumni pursue careers as scientists and instructors across academic institutions, biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies, and government research organizations.
Our BHAD graduate program delivers a comprehensive, challenging curriculum combining research and coursework for MS or PhD candidates. We foster a collaborative atmosphere that encourages open sharing of concepts and techniques, where every community member supports each other's achievements. The program features an engaged, diverse faculty specializing in various disciplines, including protein analysis, therapeutic development, enzyme mechanisms, cellular communication, viral pathogenesis, and oncology. A unifying emphasis on molecular and structural principles connects all research initiatives, irrespective of their particular biological focus.
