Introduced in 2018 as Virtual Reality & Immersive Media, Drexel's Bachelor of Science in Digital Media & Virtual Production pioneered as one of the first accredited programs in this discipline. Currently, this degree program maintains its position at the forefront, educating students with cutting-edge methodologies and technological advancements. The Digital Media & Virtual Production curriculum offers comprehensive educational opportunities, detailed guidance, and insight into the complete workflow of concepts, tools, methods, and competencies used in creating immersive media productions. The program teaches fundamental concepts of narrative development, motion graphics, and visual composition, along with practical applications using modern technological solutions such as three-dimensional modeling, virtual filmmaking techniques, and interactive game development platforms.
