Architecture demands a distinctive combination of abilities—creative vision and aesthetic awareness paired with technical expertise, cultural insight, and social accountability, along with strong communication skills. Drexel's undergraduate architecture program integrates foundational studies in applied and social sciences, humanities, and diverse professional architecture courses to equip students for careers in architecture and allied professions. Central to the program are design studios, where students tackle meaningful design challenges by synthesizing knowledge from these disciplines.
Drexel Westphal's Architecture program provides two specialized degree paths for aspiring architects:
Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.): An NAAB-accredited professional degree blending full- and part-time study with early, immersive architectural practice experience, leading to licensure.
Drexel University's Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (BS in Arch. Studies) is a four-year, pre-professional program. Students gain broad architectural knowledge, refine design abilities, and deepen their comprehension of the field. Ideal for those exploring career paths, this degree allows for interdisciplinary combinations and serves as a foundation for dual BS/MS degrees or a professional NAAB-accredited M.Arch. This full-time program accommodates international students and offers both co-op and non-co-op tracks.
