Sociology explores the formation and sustainability of communities, as well as how individuals challenge social norms and disparities. Leveraging Philadelphia's diverse cultural backdrop, Drexel's Bachelor of Arts in Sociology equips students to analyze the dynamic relationship between societal structures and personal experiences, fostering a deeper comprehension of how society influences individual lives. The program cultivates essential competencies in critical analysis, research methodology, data interpretation, written communication, and public presentation to engage with modern societal issues.

Sociological perspectives can be applied to diverse facets of human interaction, ranging from purchasing habits to obstacles in ecological transformation. Students have the flexibility to tailor their coursework to align with personal interests or select from three specialized tracks grounded in faculty research: environmental, medical, or urban sociology. This specialized training empowers graduates to confront pressing modern-day societal concerns.
