This Level-1 Certification program is tailored for bachelor's degree holders pursuing chemical dependency counselor licensure in approved study areas. Applicants must consult with the Human Services Program Coordinator or their representative. The Addiction Studies Level I Certificate fulfills Texas DSHS requirements for candidates who haven't secured their chemical dependency license within five years of receiving their initial counselor intern designation from DSHS.
