This specialization is ideal for individuals aiming to pursue careers as city managers, chief administrative officers, department heads, or senior project managers. It explores the responsibilities, qualifications, obstacles, and operational aspects of leading public organizations. Participants develop essential competencies for effective collaboration with professional teams, elected officials, consultants, and community members when executing major policy initiatives. The curriculum also covers legal considerations relevant to public sector leadership. DePaul University's Master of Public Administration (MPA) program cultivates future public servants committed to promoting social justice and the public welfare, embodying the values of St. Vincent de Paul. Designed for both current government employees and those entering public service, the MPA provides comprehensive training in administration across all government levels - local, state, federal, and international. Students can choose from six campus-based specializations: public management, emergency management, healthcare administration, international public management, standard track, and metropolitan planning/urban affairs. Four concentrations - public management, emergency management, standard track, and metropolitan planning/urban affairs - are also available through the online MPA program.
