The Master of Laws program kicks off with an orientation session that familiarizes graduate students with DePaul's faculty, resources, and facilities including the library and research centers. International students who completed their legal education abroad will attend additional courses covering key distinctions between civil and common law systems, fundamentals of the U.S. legal framework, analytical reasoning techniques, and essential legal writing skills for the American legal environment. The International Law LLM program focuses on both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies necessary for success in global legal practice.

Qualification Requirements

Prospective students must have received a law degree from an accredited U.S. law school or a Bachelor of Laws from a foreign law school, or will have received such a degree prior to seeking admission.

TOEFL/IELTS/DET score: 90 on the iBT, 577 on the PBT, 6.5 on the IELTS or 115 on the DuoLingo English Test.
