The Reading Specialist MA/MEd program caters to current educators aiming to take on leadership positions within school systems. You'll develop expertise in addressing varied student requirements and reading challenges, enabling you to influence schoolwide reading initiatives, deliver professional training to faculty, and enhance educational programs across schools and districts. Licensed teachers can additionally pursue a Reading Specialist endorsement for their Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL). This two-to-three year program is offered at DePaul University's Lincoln Park Campus.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible to enroll in any of these programs, students must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and state teaching licensure. In addition, applicants to the Reading Specialist master's degree program must have at least one year of full-time teaching experience.
