The core of every academic program lies in its curriculum and the educators who teach it. Our distinctive curriculum was crafted with significant input from Chicago's hospitality industry leaders and our national advisory board members. We also sought guidance from senior faculty at four of the country's premier hospitality programs to refine and enhance it. This collaborative approach has resulted in a robust curriculum that sets us apart from other hospitality programs. Our program combines two fundamental elements: hospitality industry expertise and essential business competencies. Furthermore, five key themes are integrated across all courses: leadership, ethics, human resources, globalization, and sustainability. By embedding these themes throughout our curriculum, we aim to cultivate in students a strong sense of personal and corporate social responsibility, along with an understanding of the broader global context. The Hospitality Leadership program equips you for management roles across diverse hospitality sectors, such as hotels, restaurants, private clubs, and event planning. Hospitality students here enjoy a balanced blend of leadership courses and core business studies. As a hospitality major, you'll gain access to the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Center for Student Development and Engagement, which connects you with industry professionals, alumni, and peers while providing specialized career preparation and leadership training. The center also supports you in fulfilling the program's internship requirements through valuable resources and guidance.
