Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences equips you with essential knowledge and skills for diverse careers in science, research, education, healthcare, and beyond. Through classroom instruction and hands-on experiences, you'll develop independent thinking and teamwork abilities. Many faculty members lead their own research initiatives, offering students multiple opportunities to participate in projects. Biological Sciences students are urged to engage in seminars and internships. For those considering education careers, our department collaborates with the College of Education to provide teaching degrees. We also feature accelerated dual-degree options: a combined bachelor's/master's in Biological Sciences and another in Biological Sciences with Secondary Education. These programs enable completion of both degrees in just five years. The Physiology Concentration allows students to explore organism functions across cellular, tissue, organ, system, and whole-organism levels.
