Students opting for the Language and Literature focus aim to enhance their knowledge of the target language, literary works, cultural aspects, and/or linguistic studies for academic or career purposes. They can select between primarily taking Italian language courses or completing an extra 300-level elective alongside three linguistics-related classes (which may include subjects like anthropology, bilingual education, language learning, communication studies, philosophy, psychology, or semiotics) beyond the Italian Program's offerings.
Upon selecting the Italian major with this concentration, students are encouraged to consult with the Italian Program Director to determine which academic track aligns with their personal interests and future aspirations.
