The Literary Studies program expands students' understanding of literature and language through diverse courses covering historical eras, literary trends, linguistic structures, and analytical methods. Learners explore literary works within their historical and cultural frameworks, enhance their analytical skills and critical terminology, evaluate the values portrayed in literature, master research techniques, and cultivate a writing style that's articulate, accurate, and compelling. The English major introduces students to a wide spectrum of English-language literature, reinforces their historical and critical foundations, and sharpens their written communication abilities. Students examine prominent writers, significant texts, various genres, and key literary developments through both analytical and historical lenses. Those pursuing Creative Writing additionally participate in multiple workshops, experimenting with different literary forms. Both programs equip students with keen reading abilities, strong writing proficiency, a deeper appreciation for language's influence, innovative and analytical thinking skills, and an openness to diverse perspectives.
