The Early Childhood Education program offers coursework designed for the Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education for Transfer degree. This curriculum establishes a fundamental grasp of the field, includes diverse subject matter, and prepares students for transfer to any CSU institution accepting the Transfer Model Curriculum (TMC). The degree supports seamless transfer to select CSU campuses, enabling students to pursue graduate studies or careers in teaching, child development, program leadership, early special education roles, or as child life specialists. Graduates with a B.A. in ECE/Child Development can qualify for California's Master Teacher and Site Supervisor permits under the Alternative Qualifications pathway. The Associate in Science for Transfer is tailored for students aiming to complete a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) at a CSU. While guaranteeing CSU system admission, it doesn't ensure acceptance to specific campuses or programs. Transfer students typically need no more than 60 semester units to finish their bachelor's degree at participating CSUs. This pathway may not suit students targeting non-CSU institutions or particular CSU campuses. Prospective students should always consult with academic counselors regarding transfer and admission requirements.
