Tailored mainly for students aiming to transfer to University of California or California State University systems, the Liberal Arts associate degree offers a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on one of four specialization tracks: Arts and Letters, Business and Computer Information Systems, Science, Math and Engineering, or Social and Behavioral Sciences. This program helps students cultivate crucial life and career skills including effective communication, analytical thinking, quantitative analysis, problem-solving, and cultural awareness. To earn the degree, students must complete at least 27 units in their chosen specialization area, fulfill the A.A. degree's General Education prerequisites, and meet the A.A./A.S. degree criteria outlined in the college catalog. Important: The 27-unit specialization courses cannot double-count toward General Education requirements, and students may obtain only one Liberal Arts degree.
