The Master of Arts in Professional Counseling is a 60-61 credit hour program designed to qualify graduates for Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification in Texas. This program equips students with both the credentials and competencies needed to work in diverse environments, including secular and faith-based organizations. At DBU, faculty mentor students in cultivating a biblical perspective on counseling while honing the practical abilities required for professional excellence. Instructors incorporate hands-on learning by drawing from their clinical expertise and life experiences. The curriculum features a two-semester practicum that fulfills Texas state licensing prerequisites.
