The dual Master of Arts program in Family Ministry and Professional Counseling offers faith-based graduate education to equip servant leaders for family ministry roles by combining Christian Education principles with professional counseling skills for diverse community and ministry contexts. Upon finishing the Professional Counseling MA, graduates qualify to pursue state LPC certification. This Professional Counseling MA program readies students for Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credentials, enabling them to provide counseling services across multiple environments including community health centers, addiction treatment facilities, academic counseling offices, faith-based counseling clinics, mental health hospitals, domestic abuse shelters, religious institutions, rehab centers, and independent practices. Increasing demand for professional counseling coupled with dissatisfaction with value-neutral therapeutic approaches highlights the necessity for graduate training grounded in biblical principles as both foundation and objective. Currently, all courses for the Professional Counseling MA are scheduled during evenings and weekends.
