Mastering Spanish creates opportunities across social, academic, career, political, and ministerial spheres, whether in the U.S. or internationally. DBU's Spanish Department delivers a faith-integrated, Christ-focused program that teaches language skills, cultural knowledge, literature, and communication abilities. We prepare students to achieve language mastery and cultural understanding while building a framework for worldwide servant leadership. Our department pursues these objectives for graduates: achieving conversational fluency in Spanish, comprehending Hispanic culture and worldview through a Christian lens, honing advanced Spanish literacy through literature and cultural studies that promote analytical skills, and gaining practical experience through service-oriented internships that apply Spanish in professional, ministerial, or vocational contexts.
