The Bridge MA program aims to assist gifted scholars in Classics while promoting diversity within the field. Each year, one student receives full fellowship funding. Participants collaborate closely with Classics faculty and doctoral candidates while pursuing their own research projects. This fellowship is designed for individuals holding a bachelor's degree who are considering advanced studies in Classics or similar fields. Both graduating seniors and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Applications for the upcoming academic year must be submitted by March 1. The program provides financial support for two summers and two semesters, beginning with summer enrollment in early June. On-campus housing is available during the initial summer term (early June to mid-August). Outstanding participants showing strong potential for doctoral work may be offered admission to the Ph.D. program after completing their second semester.

Qualification Requirements

A baccalaureate degree from a college or university of recognized standing.
For students with international credentials, an equivalent international degree is required.
Please submit the online application, including transcripts detailing previous coursework, three letters of recommendation, and the two required statements, and a writing sample. The academic statement of purpose provides an opportunity to reflect on your plans for future research. The personal statement provides an opportunity to describe your aspirations for the discipline of Classics, and how your background will help you to achieve them. The writing sample can be a research paper, a chapter of an undergraduate honors thesis, or a creative alternative (presentation, wiki, translation, book or film review, ect.).
