Cornell's doctoral program in Neurobiology and Behavior (NB&B) stands out for its distinctive approach. Our curriculum combines neurobiological research with behavioral studies across all analytical levels, from molecular mechanisms to evolutionary processes. Faculty members from diverse fields such as Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Physics, Entomology, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Medicine, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Neurobiology and Behavior contribute to our interdisciplinary research. Our graduate students come with varied academic backgrounds and research interests, allowing for personalized study plans. Alongside comprehensive neurobiology and behavior coursework, we provide hands-on laboratory training in techniques like neurophysiology, patch clamping, molecular neurobiology, computational neuroscience, bioacoustics, behavioral evolution modeling, and animal behavior field studies. Students also have opportunities to explore additional subjects like biostatistics and bioinformatics beyond the NB&B program.
Our graduate program is for academically talented undergraduates with a strong interest in neurobiology and/or behavior.
