The Cornell University Biomedical and Biological Sciences (BBS) Graduate Program brings together exceptional graduate students working on cutting-edge research across fundamental, clinical, and applied life sciences alongside distinguished faculty and research experts. Based in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell's Ithaca campus, the program leverages top-tier research resources, the dynamic undergraduate environment, and close connections with Weill Cornell Medical College in NYC. The BBS Program cultivates a supportive, student-focused academic community dedicated to helping graduate students excel in research, education, and career growth. Participants choose faculty advisors from five specialized tracks: Immunology and Infectious Disease, Molecular and Cellular Medicine, Population Medicine and Epidemiology, Translational Medicine, and Zoology and Wildlife Conservation.
The Immunology and Infectious Disease concentration features numerous faculty and students researching infection mechanisms, immune system function, immune genetics, and disease-related immune responses. Current investigations also explore immunotoxicology, membrane biology, immune system development, parasite immunology, and associated disciplines.
