As a Plant Sciences major, you choose a concentration to add depth to your broad studies. If the nine existing concentrations don't match your career objectives, you can create a Custom Concentration (DYOC). To develop your own concentration, consult with your advisor before completing your sophomore year (or first semester for junior transfers) to plan your specialized coursework. Your advisor will then file a petition with the Plant Sciences Curriculum Committee (PSCC) for review and authorization, typically processed within 1-3 weeks. Once approved, the Undergraduate Program Coordinator will update your DUST record with your DYOC details. Custom concentrations can blend elements of existing programs with modifications or create entirely unique pathways based on your creative vision and academic passions.
