This Bachelor of Science program equips students with comprehensive knowledge grounded in hands-on learning across diverse Plant Sciences disciplines.
Situated in America's most fertile agricultural region, Fresno State's Department of Plant Science offers students rigorous academic training combined with practical fieldwork. The curriculum covers specialized areas like fruit cultivation, vegetable production, crop science, landscape horticulture, soil studies, water management, insect control, plant diseases, weed management, and agricultural technology. Our expert faculty, holding advanced qualifications, consistently apply their expertise through on-site research and lab instruction. The campus features extensive resources including a 1,000-acre research farm, modern greenhouses, and the Jordan Agricultural Research Center, where students engage with advanced horticultural and farming techniques, innovative cultivation methods, agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, soil nutrition, plant breeding, and pest control strategies.
Have graduated from high school (earning a high school diploma), have earned a Certificate of General Education Development (GED) or have passed the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE)
English language Score: TOEFL – 61 iBT, or IELTS – 6.0 or with 5.5 Band score in each section, or ELS Language Centers - Level 112, or Pearson's Test of English – 45. Application Deadlines: Fall - July 1 and Spring - November 1.
