The International Agriculture and Rural Development (IARD) program prepares students to address complex, interdisciplinary challenges in global food systems and rural advancement. Through this major, learners engage in hands-on fieldwork and research projects across diverse international settings. Participants develop practical expertise by collaborating with rural populations to: combat poverty and malnutrition via agricultural advancements, enhance food availability, promote sustainable development through scientific and policy initiatives, and support economic growth in developing regions through improved business approaches and policy recommendations. This broad-based curriculum culminates in a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Agriculture degree. Rather than focusing on a single specialization, the program encourages comprehensive understanding through interdisciplinary exploration. It offers adaptable learning pathways that merge subject-specific expertise with the capacity to analyze issues from multiple viewpoints.
