Mathematics majors have the flexibility to delve into theoretical mathematics or apply their knowledge across various disciplines. With seven concentration options available, students can customize their curriculum by selecting from diverse courses in analysis, algebra, topology, geometry, probability, statistics, and logic. This adaptable program serves multiple objectives—it can focus on pure theory or practical applications, suit both professional and nonprofessional paths, and be designed as either comprehensive or specialized. Additionally, the major pairs well with intensive study in other scientific fields through dual degrees or concentrations in physical, biological, or social sciences.
