As a German studies major, you'll develop fluency in reading, speaking, and writing German while exploring the cultural traditions of German-speaking nations. You'll also hone your ability to interpret, evaluate, and engage with German texts across various academic fields. Students can tailor their studies through specialized courses covering literature and philosophy, cultural studies, media analysis, and critical theory. With approval from the undergraduate studies director, relevant courses from other departments with significant German content may count toward the major.
