The Robert S. Harrison College Scholar Program embodies the highest expression of Cornell's liberal arts education. This selective initiative caters to an outstanding cohort of students whose academic passions cross traditional subject boundaries. Participants have shown remarkable initiative and intellectual maturity in crafting and executing personalized academic plans. These scholars create custom interdisciplinary concentrations centered on specific themes or inquiries, developing curricula unavailable through standard degree programs. The program encourages a more comprehensive synthesis of interconnected fields than conventional majors allow, employing sophisticated methodologies typically reserved for graduate study. Each scholar completes their journey with an original senior research endeavor, frequently resulting in an honors thesis. This distinctive Arts & Sciences offering fosters deep intellectual exploration both inside and outside traditional academic settings.
