The Social Justice - Latino and Chicano Studies (AA-T) program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum exploring the diverse experiences of Latino and Chicano communities across the Americas. This program takes a comparative, transnational approach, focusing on three key areas: historical perspectives, current social challenges, and literary works. Earning this degree equips students with professional competencies, ethical values, leadership abilities, and connections to career opportunities or graduate studies. Designed for CSU transfer students, this AA-T program serves as a pathway to a Bachelor of Arts degree.
To obtain the Associate in Arts Transfer degree in Social Justice, students must complete 60 semester units of CSU-transferable courses, including major requirements and either CSU or IGETC general education requirements, while maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA. All major coursework must be completed with at least a C grade.
