To earn an Associate in Arts Degree, students must complete at least 60 units of coursework that counts toward degree credit. This includes fulfilling major and general education requirements while maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA. All major-specific courses require a grade of C or higher. Researchers conduct fieldwork to analyze diverse societies' traditions, belief systems, and social structures while comparing linguistic, archaeological, and biological characteristics across populations. Some anthropologists specialize in human evolution or primate studies, while others address contemporary global issues like conflict, resource scarcity, and socioeconomic disparities.
