Columbia University's MFA Writing Program is renowned for its intensive literary training and distinguished faculty of accomplished authors and editors committed to teaching. The program celebrates artistic and literary diversity through its faculty, students, and curriculum. Participants are empowered to trust their creative impulses and push beyond boundaries to maximize their writing abilities. Central to the program are intimate writing workshops, limited to 7-12 students, where each participant shares their work at least three times per term. Students benefit from detailed written feedback from instructors and peers, along with regular individual faculty consultations. Second-year thesis workshops (6-10 students) focus on refining each writer's manuscript into publishable form.
