The MFA Directing program builds on the concept that a director's artistic perspective grows through hands-on experience, mentorship, constructive critique, teamwork, and continuous practice. Alongside studying the methods and philosophies of renowned historical theater directors, students are urged to explore both conventional frameworks and innovative approaches to directing. They also learn to incorporate principles from related creative disciplines like music, visual arts, and choreography into their theatrical productions.
Applicants should have the equivalent of a U.S. baccalaureate degree, and should understand idiomatic English and speak, write, and read English with a high degree of facility.
English Language Requirements
Applicant must have minimum TOEFL score of 100 on the online portion or 600 on the written portion.
