The Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) program offers a dynamic, adaptable interdisciplinary curriculum centered on quantitative research approaches. This program combines methodologies and viewpoints from six key social science fields: economics, history, political science, psychology, sociology, and statistics. MIA students gain both theoretical understanding and hands-on skills to tackle global challenges in international relations. The program blends Columbia University's exceptional academic resources with immersive practical experiences, featuring capstone projects with international organizations. Participants follow a flexible core curriculum with diverse offerings in global politics and political economy. Students can specialize in various concentrations: International Security Policy, International Finance and Economic Policy, Economic and Political Development, Human Rights and Humanitarian Policy, Energy and Environment, or Urban and Social Policy. Alumni become part of an influential global network of MIA graduates working across public, private, and nonprofit sectors worldwide.
All students must submit one transcript showing courses and grades per school attended, a Statement of Academic Purpose, a writing sample and three letters of evaluation from academic sources. Letters of Recommendation - 3
