The Master of Public Policy (MPP) is a two-year professional program that equips students with essential analytical abilities, specialized knowledge, and professional connections to tackle policy issues and develop effective solutions. The MPP program structure includes two key elements - a mandatory core curriculum (totaling 27 credits) covering governance fundamentals, quantitative methods, and policy implementation, alongside elective courses for specialized study in specific policy domains. Students can apply their elective credits toward one or two concentrations, or explore broader policy topics. Available concentrations encompass environmental policy, energy policy, international development, security and economic policy, leadership, nonprofit management, public finance, social policy, health policy, education policy, and a customizable option. Completion of 48 credits is required to obtain the MPP degree. Develop expertise in policy formulation and governance while acquiring the analytical tools and hands-on experience needed to address critical policy issues.
Public financial management represents one of SPP's areas of distinction, featuring faculty with national reputations, substantial research contributions, and exceptional instruction and internship guidance. The Public Financial Management concentration develops future leaders for key administrative roles across local, state, and federal governments.
