The Journalism School prioritizes developing investigative skills as a fundamental part of its curriculum. Both M.S. and M.A. students receive training in investigative journalism techniques. M.S. students have the opportunity to join The Toni Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism, which offers specialized reporting courses, financial assistance, and editorial guidance for in-depth projects. All M.S. and M.A. candidates must enroll in an investigative course during the fall semester (refer to Classes section). M.S. students may additionally choose a spring investigative seminar, collaborating in teams to examine a specific subject over 15 weeks. These seminars cover diverse topics from healthcare investigations to military espionage research and international data-driven inquiries.
