Columbia University's Master of Arts in Biotechnology program equips students with cutting-edge molecular biology skills, specializing in techniques relevant to biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. The program curriculum covers fundamental biotechnology concepts and their real-world implementations across diverse disciplines, with special attention given to medical applications. To earn the MA degree, students must complete 30 credit hours of coursework along with a thesis. The academic requirements consist of three foundational courses, hands-on training, and electives chosen from Biological Sciences and other departments tailored to individual interests. The thesis involves an in-depth analysis of a biotechnology subject. Full-time students can finish the program in one year (including summer), while part-time students have a more flexible timeline.
Applicants should have a BA or BS in biology or a related field. Applicants with a significant background in biology and chemistry but who have majored in other fields will be considered.

Applicant must have TOEFL score of 600 on paper-and-pencil test, 100 on the internet-based test and IELTS score of 7.5
