The PhD curriculum, mandating at least three years of East Asian language study for admission, prepares dedicated full-time students for doctoral-level work. Participants engage in diverse courses, seminars, and colloquia aimed at developing historical perspective, analytical skills, proficiency in East Asian language texts, and advanced research capabilities.
