The DDS/MA dual degree program in Science and Dental Education allows a limited group of dental students passionate about teaching to obtain an MA from Teachers College alongside their dental degree. Qualification Requirements
All students applying to the College of Dental Medicine must have a Bachelor's degree from a US accredited college or Canadian institution. Additional requirements include:
- 6 credits, or the equivalent of one academic year of study, of coursework in English composition or literature or a writing intensive class in a non-English department
- 6 credits in mathematics
- A minimum of 8 credits, or the equivalent of one academic year of study, in each the following subject areas (including lab):
- 1 year of physics
- 1 year of biology
- 1 year of inorganic or general chemistry
- 1 year of organic chemistry
- 1 semester of biochemistry (no lab required)
We also strongly recommend that students have university-level credits in:
- Sociology
- History
- Fine or industrial arts
- One or more foreign languages
