The Civil Engineering Program prepares students, upon earning their BS degree, to embark on professional careers—such as in industry, on construction sites, in consulting engineering firms, or through government agencies—or to pursue graduate studies, or both.
Program Educational Objectives
To align with the department's mission, our program is continuously refined to meet the following goals:
Graduates possessing a broad and solid technical foundation will be ready to join the civil engineering workforce with a BS, gaining specialized skills through apprenticeships, or by pursuing a specialized MS, which is increasingly popular.
Graduates with a strong grounding in fundamental math, science, and engineering principles will be well-prepared to adapt to evolving technologies in the field.
Graduates armed with a comprehensive technical education will have the flexibility to pursue diverse career paths, whether technical or non-technical.
Graduates will apply their expertise with strong writing and communication abilities, uphold professional ethics, and remain mindful of societal concerns.
